Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Overview

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness the grandeur of QPAC’s Klais Grand Organ

As part of the QPAC 40 Open Day, the majesty of QPAC’s Klais Grand Organ will be unveiled in two free 45 minute recitals. Master organist Christopher Wrench will showcase the Concert Hall’s magnificent 6,780-pipe instrument, which was built over a period of three years by Johannes Klais Orgelbau of Bonn, Germany.

Widely recognised for his passionate and authoritative performances, Christopher Wrench is equally at home in the varied roles of soloist, liturgical musician, pedagogue, accompanist and chamber player. As one of this country’s most respected organists, Christopher has performed with many orchestras and at countless festivals, both in Australia and overseas. Twenty-two international tours have taken him to countries including Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Germany and many more. He is currently Director of Music at Christ Church St Lucia and Director of Chapel Music at St John’s College, University of Queensland.

Organ Recital with Christopher Wrench is part of the QPAC 40 Open Day. Find out more here.
