Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Bolshoi Ballet on the Lyric stage as part of the 2019 QPAC International Series

Lyric Theatre

The Lyric Theatre is our largest venue, perfect for opera, ballet, and large-scale theatre events, including musical theatre.

With its stunning 2,000 seats, the theatre offers a traditional horseshoe shape and faces Melbourne Street, offering city views from the riverside foyer. The auditorium features continental seating with stalls and two levels of balconies, allowing for excellent access and seating options for wheelchair users and patrons with mobility difficulties.

The Lyric Theatre is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, spacious main and rear stages, orchestra pit, and magical atmosphere, making it the preferred venue for local, interstate, and international performers.

The foyers will open 90 minutes before the performance. The closest parking options are the Performing Arts Car Park or the Art Gallery/Museum car park, both conveniently located nearby.
