tomtom

A dash of rhythm, a hint of spice—now life is twice as nice.

The steady beat of drums signals something special is about to begin. tomtom pulses with that same anticipation, alive with flavour, rhythm, and the spirit of performance.

Formerly known as Bistro by QPAC, tomtom unveils a bold new identity that celebrates the harmony of South-east Asian street food and the theatrical soul of QPAC. Located in the open-air Cascade Court, just steps from the Brisbane River, it draws guests in with vibrant energy, fragrant promise, and a sense of occasion.

The name tomtom itself is a celebration of cultural harmony. In Thai, it refers to a style of soup (like Tom Yum); in Vietnamese, it whispers of fragrance (‘thóm’), meanings that blend together like herbs and spices in a masterful dish. This playful repetition echoes through the space: in the rhythmic preparation of food, the buzz of conversation, and the pulse of theatrical life that flows through QPAC’s corridors. tomtom isn’t just a name; it’s a promise of experience. It’s the anticipation before a meal, the percussion of plates and cutlery, the symphony of shared laughter. Like the best performances at QPAC, every visit orchestrates its own story, of flavour, of friendship, of moments shared between friends and strangers alike. Whether you're joining us for a pre-show feast or settling into a quiet corner to savour South-east Asian cuisine, tomtom welcomes you to its ongoing performance, where every meal beats to the rhythm of celebration.

Welcome to tomtom—Rhythm all its own.

Before show lunch at tomtom never disappoints. Fantastic service considering volume of patrons, good go to menu. Spring rolls, calamari is brilliant, Korean chicken and side of fries. Order at counter and grab a table under the sails of QPAC performing arts food will be delivered. Staff always immaculately dressed in black which adds class to any event here. 5 stars.
