Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Work Experience & Internships

At QPAC, we understand the importance of nurturing emerging talent and providing valuable learning opportunities.

Our work experience and internship programs are designed to offer a hands-on, immersive experience in the world of performing arts and event management.

For more information or any queries, you can email our team at hr@qpac.com.au

Work Experience

Our program generally offers experience across the technical disciplines of production; specifically lighting, staging and sound technology. We are unable to offer work experience programs in acting, dance, drama, costume or music. Placements take place during a 5-day block week (Monday to Friday) from 9am to 5pm. Availability of placements is dependent on show and venue activity.

Work Experience Placements need to fit the following criteria:

  • Currently studying in Year 11 or 12 secondary students
  • Possess demonstrated interest in the Performing Arts - particularly in live theatre and technical production
  • Available to do work experience at an allocated time

To apply for a placement, you will need to write to our Work Experience Coordinator outlining the preferred time period, the type of work experience requested and the skills and experience which relate to the work experience being requested.

Should you wish to apply for work experience please complete a Work Experience Application Form.

Internships

A voluntary internship offers tertiary students an opportunity to gain practical experience whilst completing studies at university. Many students require an internship program to gain credit. We offer voluntary internship opportunities on a case-by-case basis and availability is determined by operational capacity and program feasibility.

We currently offer student placements in Finance and Business, Publicity and Programming.

Students wishing to find out more about a possible internship with QPAC are encouraged to complete a Voluntary Internship Application Form to submit to the Human Resources team.
